Justice is coming and it will be harsh and unstoppable.
No moderate politicians or MAGA judges will protect the despot or his neo-Nazi collaborators. We The People are furious. We are out of patience and mercy. We won’t tolerate anything less than full accountably and proportionate punishment for the criminals.
We have been assaulted, kidnapped and tortured. We have been robbed of our healthcare and our food. Our taxes have been stolen and used to finance a violent war against us.
We are done with this.
We have been, and continue to be, underestimated. In the end, that won’t matter.
For some reason, even now, media and much of the public continues to think and behave as if these are normal times. As if we simply have a bad administration and the solution is to win the next election.
Well, yes, we can and should and must defeat the fascists in the coming elections. But that’s the tip of the iceberg.
This is The Soviet Union in 1991. This is Romania in 1989. This is Serbia in 2000. This is nonviolent revolution, the uprooting of evil. The outcome—whether we get new despots or true freedom—depends on us.
We have learned from history. We will uproot not only fascism, but also plutocracy. We The People demand real freedom, real autonomy. The new political unit will be the neighborhood—we will care for our neighbors and ourselves. And the planet that sustains us.
Power will be delegated up, not forced from the top down. Anything we don’t like, we stop.
Ah, but let’s talk about the immediate future.
Crime and Punishment
The crimes will be fully exposed, in great detail. Victims will have the opportunity to directly confront their abusers. We want accountability for the criminals and catharsis for the victims.
This will happen because any “authorities” who fail—like their predecessors—to enforce the will of the people will be removed. Or worse.
Like I said, we are done with abuse, disobedience from our hired public servants and really, done with anything that reflects bad values like greed or hate. So, we have enormous anger, but controlled anger. Unlike our opponents, we won’t kill. But we WILL have OUR way. We do not serve our servants.
The mechanics of how this is all carried out doesn’t matter. Both our enforcement of justice and our new, better and humane civilization will rest on benevolent values, not rules and systems.
I believe it was Jefferson who said if men were angels, government would not be necessary. As it turns out, no government rules can contain evil. A determined people who will not cooperate with devils can establish and maintain a kind, caring civilization.
Values are what matters.
The Vision
Currently, the Resistance rests on a coalition that agrees on one thing: opposition to royalty and tyranny. But we don’t have a common positive vision.
This seems tricky because there are a variety of systems and people are not united behind any of them. Indeed, we are deeply divided over capitalism, socialism, democratic socialism, communism, anarchy and other ways of organizing economies and government.
But if we don’t promote a clear positive vision, we stand a very good chance of swapping one despot for another. Our victory—which is absolutely coming—would be meaningless in the end.
A vision of a better society is essential. I want to propose one.
First, let me re-iterate that the system matters much less than the values. So, each of us must begin promoting and practice a radical benevolence. We have no choice but to change the culture. If we do not, our civilization and indeed the biosphere of the Earth is doomed.
Our behavior and values determines the future of. our children, and indeed, whether or not they have a future.
So, what is this new society? It you and your neighbors. The entire country rests on your autonomy and that of the good people who live around you. But it goes deeper than that. We are ending greed, or even the possibility of greed.
We are ending money. There will be no “store of value” for any greedy selfish people to steal, hoard and use against you. In fact, We The People will produce food, shelter, medicine and whatever people need for secure and comfortable lives—and we will share, not sell it. Everyone’s needs will be meet—no insecurity about food or healthcare.
Significantly, we will have no jobs other than to produce these necessities so nobody goes without. Could it be unfair? Could there be free riders? Yes, that will happen but that happens now. And it will happen much much less than now because the feel of the entire civilization will be different.
The most important effect of this new way of living will be we will have a lot less stuff and a whole lot more time. Because we won’t live in servitude, exhausted from full time jobs that pay a part-time salary. We won’t waste our lives producing unneeded crap so some unworthy leech who does no work gets rich off our labor.
Producing less stuff—and I’m talking 80% less, maybe 90% will enable us to begin healing our Earth, begin to stabilize the biosphere. Our children will inhabit a permanently damaged Earth—but not a destroyed one. In some ways, life will be harder because our revolution was decades late.
But in other ways, life will be better than ever.
Now I know the objections. People will say this is unrealistic. That human nature precludes benevolence. That we need everyone aboard and that can’t happen.
But what’s unrealistic is to expect greed and selfishness and ongoing abuse of the planet to be sustainable. Even if our revolution failed, this society is doomed. To continue it needs to defy Nature Law—physics, chemistry and biology. It can’t. THAT is impossible. You can’t murder the biosphere and keep going. That’s why i say our abusers or even stupider than they are evil. They are passionately committing mass suicide. It’s a problem because what they are doing is actually mass-murder/suicide. Or more precisely, ecocide.
Here’s the goal—we exchange stuff, unnecessary but sometimes pleasant stuff, for TIME. And TIME is LIFE. What I want is for every person on the planet to live fully as human beings and not live in servitude, wasting their short precious lives serving undeserving elites.
But the rewards are even bigger than freedom and autonomy. Once we are living as human beings, not human resources, we have meaning. For people (and possibly all creatures) meaning come from living in accord with one’s nature. Hate is not the core of humanity. Our species would never have survived on that basis. Indeed, that one powerful but non-dominant trait continues to threaten our survival.
We will displace hate and starve that recessive trait.
Humans are primarily cooperative social creatures. We like to be together and get along. Indeed, our tendency towards obedience is being used against us by the fascists—for example, warning us against immigrants who violate the rules.
But really our social nature is mostly a plus.
Anyway, people are social creatures, curious, and creative. We are storytellers. We are story consumers. We can play together. Cooperate to discover or create new things. We like to figure things out.
In the new society, when we NO LONGER waste our time and energy producing mountains of crap to enrich others—while damaging the Earth and dooming our children—and LIVE instead, everything will be different. The present will be beautiful and the future unlimited.
Let’s promote the vision and move towards it.
