Withholding Taxes Because We’ve Been Robbed of the Money We Use To Pay Them

Our paid benefits—benefits funded by the taxes we pay with every paycheck of our entire lives—are being slashed. So is our ability and inclination to continue paying taxes.

Here are the demands I recommend that We The People of the United States issue at our next series of nationwide protests.
But before we get to our demands, we start with an announcement.

We are going to begin withholding taxes because the inept and cruel government has instituted policies that make it impossible for us to pay them. Also, by abusing its power, we the people hereby renounce this government and withdraw our consent and declare the fascist regime to be illegitimate.

Now, here is our demand:

We demand an immediate and unconditional resignation of the entire fascist junta.

We need to carry signs—zillions of them—making and reiterating these points.

Other Steps To Assert People Power, and Instill Fear In Our Oppressors

We announce a slowdown. OUR slowdown. So, our Social Security and Medicaid and Medicare are going to be cut, payments delayed, programs ended? Those are OUR programs, which we PAID for but will STOP PAYING when the benefits are—in any way—hampered.

We will call in sick, work slow, and sabotage any work that is abusive to people or in any way disturbing to our consciences. We will not deny claims to patients needing care. We will not send collection agencies to harass struggling families. We will not help fossil fuel companies poison the planet and doom our children. The most evil industries will be crippled—and ultimately shut down.

Here’s OUR demands:

1. 1. Slash the waste in our military budget by at least 25% effective immediately. We know that we spend as much as the TEN next most highly funded national military forces in the world combined. This isn’t for defense—it’s for military aggression and it’s a gigantic welfare program for military contractors. We aren’t stupid and it’s time that the government understands this.
   2. Immediate increase in income taxes paid by the rich to at leasts 50% plus a wealth tax of at least 50% on money exceeding $100 million. And a 100% wealth tax on wealth exceeding $1 billion. That is, no billionaires. Wealthy people who continue to evade taxes use secretive overseas tax shelters and other shenanigans must be subject to prison sentences of no less than one year.
   3. Restoration and sharply increased funding and payments to the public of ALL paid benefits. We demand value for our tax dollars.
   4. Immediate defunding and closing of all private prisons and release of all nonviolent prisoners. The United States exceeds every country on Earth—including China—in number of people imprisoned. The American gulag exists because it is profitable. Prisons must only be public institutions, and they must be humanely run and managed. NOT for profit.
   5. We demand a new form of government, which starts at the neighborhood level, from which power originates and is delegated—CONDITIONALLY—upwards as needed. In this government, power must truly rest with the people. This government must be run with transparency, and is completely prohibited from violating our inalienable rights—as determined by us.
   6. Repeal and reverse every executive order made by the illegal president. The current regime is headed by someone who is in office illegally, after inciting an insurrection, as described in Amendment 14 Section 3. This is true regardless of what our corrupt Supreme Court says. (WE can read!) Therefore, not a single order or piece of legislation emanating from this administration is law. Every word is null and void.
   7. Restore sensible immigration, welcoming people from other countries and making the United States a beacon to people who are striving for a better life and fleeing oppression everywhere.

We will enforce our demand with nonviolent noncooperation—a series of ongoing strikes including a general strike. We will retain this power even after the administration resigns as insurance against any new despots.
