Saners Space

Saners Space is a place for members of our group to socialize, to strategize and to bond. We will get to know each other and learn to work together. We do this to protect our planet and to build a better, more human world. We are just starting and the “Space” may seem rather empty, but GET STARTED! Sign up and sign in and leave a message!

Quickstart Guide

Quick Start Directions for setting up the Element app to access the Saners chat space on Matrix.
Chat with other Saners at #saners:matrix.org (https://matrix.to/#/%23saners:matrix.org)
Directions:
Click on the “#saners:matix.org” link above
Click “Continue”
Click on Element “Continue”
Click on “Continue in Browser” (you can install an Element app later)
Click on “Join”
Now “Create Account” or “Sign in”
Create Acct form
Username
Password
Email
“Register”
Do the captcha and email dance to finish.

Optional: Find friends, Download Element, Your Profile, and Enable notifications.
We recommend you Download the Element app to your device and then set up your profile.”

In “Your profile,” it is important to set up your “Security Key.” Think of
it as a generated password that will be used to authenticate you for
any device you are using. And it will be used to decrypt messages in encrypted rooms that you join.

After you login to an Element app, click on your user icon in the upper left corner. If not on a laptop, look for “All settings.” “Security & Privacy,” or a settings button for your user.
In the “Security & Privacy” section, click on “Set up”
Select “Generate a Security Key”, then “Continue”
You can download or copy the key. Do not close the window until you have copied it. It should be saved in a safe place that you can access so that you can cut/paste it when asked to authenticate you on other devices.  A password manager, such as KeePass or LastPass, is a good place to store the key, along with your username and password.

Now that you have a login, you can search for “saners” to find the “Saners Space”, and its rooms. The “Lobby Room” is a good place to start.
